What motivated you to join this program?
What motivated me to join this course are mainly two reasons. First, I would really like to join AMURTEL’s children activities based on this ideology. Our (refugee) mothers are vulnerable for many reasons, and we believe they may benefit from children's activities/ educational experiences that are culturally appropriate, with an approach focused on love and care for everyone and everything in safe spaces for the mother and the child. This concept is not available in most educational organizations in Greece. Second, I would like to know more about these principles to be able to incorporate them in all AMURTEL projects and to be able to keep up and continue the amazing work our Didis have done with the mothers, based on the Neohumanism philosophy.
Why do you think this program can benefit you?
The program will benefit me both personally and professionally in several ways, including personal holistic development through physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual growth. It will help me cultivate self-awareness, empathy, and compassion, leading to a deeper understanding of myself and others, a concept that I hope I can teach my kids and enhance my personal relationships and overall well-being.
How do you plan to contribute to your community?
After taking this course I am planning to contribute to the community in various ways: sharing my knowledge and expertise with my colleagues and individuals or groups in need; transfer this knowledge to our beneficiaries (marginalized and refugee mothers) through all our services; continue to practice and promote sustainable living principles in my daily life and continue to teach it to our mothers through various practical activities. I would like in the future to volunteer with an educational organization to spread this knowledge, not only in Greece, but also in my home country.
