MJ has been teaching yoga asana and other yoga practices to kids for 30 years. She was the Director of a yoga and nature based preschool for 28 years. MJ is now retired, continues to teach adult classes, and participates in many yoga based activities.

 

Since its inception, Nancy “Niiti” Gannon has pioneered Neohumanist Early childhood education as a teacher and a writer. Her early childhood publication, Teach Me to Fly, resulted from her experiences as a Neohumanist preschool director. In Meetings with My Master: A Woman’s Experience, she shares her personal experiences with the founder of Neohumanist Shrii P.R. Sarkar. Her children’s stories, The Heart Crystal and Other Stories and The Swans’ Journey, arose from regular yoga drama play with the preschoolers at McCormick Elementary School. In 1998, she co-edited with Ac: Shambhushivananda and Ac, Shiilabhadrananda, the landmark book, Discourses on Neohumanist Education by P.R.  Sarkar.

 

Nancy is currently the Board Secretary of Neohumanist College of Ashville. In addition, she is part of NHCA’S new publishing division. She also chairs the Women's Wellbeing and Development Foundation.

 

Living in a forest in McCormick, South Carolina, Nancy enjoys writing, nature, teaching yoga, meditation and social-political discussions. She believes it is essential to contribute to the greater good.
